Forming adapted teams oriented to collaboration: Detailed design and case study
نویسندگان
چکیده
Collaborative work is becoming more important, because of the increasing size and complexity of problems. There are various tools to do collaborative work that facilitate information sharing, activity collaboration among team members, and progress tracking during the execution of the collaborative work. A previous step to the collaboration process is to select the members of the team that will cooperate to reach the established goals. Previous works presented MATEO (Making Adapted TEams Oriented to collaboration), a generic system to adapt team forming taking into account team candidates’ characteristics, context (both individual and collective), and teamforming criteria. An adapted team is a team whose members have been selected according their personal characteristics and collaboration capabilities. This paper complements the previous work, explaining the detailed design of MATEO and its validation in a case study in which MATEO is integrated into a collaborative work platform named AYLLU.

A Reference Architecture for Automation of Inter-Organizational Process-Oriented Collaboration
In today’s competitive, dynamic, and changing business environment, being able to collaborate globally within and beyond the enterprise borders is critical. Inter-Organizational Collaborations (IOCs) have been proposed as a response to the characteristics of highly competitive global business environments. So far, a number of reference models, frameworks, and ad hoc architectures related to som...
متن کاملA multi-agent model for provider centered trust in Service Oriented Architectures
In current SOAs, the selection is mainly performed by the client, who creates a workflow adapted to his needs and then selects the providers she feels the most adapted to complete her overall goal. In this approach, service providers are assumed to be passive and thus cannot decide who they collaborate with. This can cause several problems such as forced collaboration with concurrents, disparit...
متن کاملLiterature Review of Teamwork Models
Both human collaboration and software agent collaboration have been thoroughly studied, but there is relatively little research on hybrid human-agent teamwork. Some research has identified the roles that agents could play in hybrid teams: supporting individual team members, being a teammate, or supporting the team as a whole [99]. Some other work [57] has investigated trust concepts as the fund...
متن کاملCollaborative Commerce: The Role of Intermediaries in e-Collaboration
We propose a model for implementing collaborative commerce in which independent companies form temporary alliances by combining their capabilities and capacity to meet market needs. Lessons from a case study of one of the earliest tests of agile collaboration among small firms, the Agile Web, Inc. guides implementation. The study illustrates that small firm owners may not have the expertise, ti...
متن کاملArtefacts Supporting Distributed Design Collaboration
This study addresses the mechanisms by which collaboration environments affect design teams’ collaboration via shared artefacts. We collected data by observing design teams consisting of experts and decision makers. The teams utilized (1) a state-of-the-art web conferencing collaboration environment and (2) a three-dimensional virtual world in their collaboration. Our analysis reveals the virtu...
